Indian Army is one of the most decorated and most significant army forces in the world. It is a land-based regiment and also the biggest in the Indian Armed forces. Getting into the Indian Army is no easy thing to do. It requires a lot of hard work and patience to do so. Also, you need to acquire a particular physique and mentality to be eligible to apply for the Indian Army. We will be talking about the eligibility to gain admission into the Indian Army.
First of all, if you want to apply for the admission process, you need to be 17 and a half years old-21 years old for the regular soldier role. You need to be 17-23 years for the technician department or region, and for the clerk position, up to 24 years is accepted. There are many other regions, but these are the top and most important ones. For the soldier position, you need to have 45% marks in the aggregate subject and at least 33% in each subject during the Matrics exam. Below this is not acceptable—the technical, Aviation and ammunition department minimum 50% in aggregate and 40% in each issue.
For the clerk/storekeeper in all arms, 60% in aggregate and 50% in each subject securing 50% in math/account/bookkeeping. These were the educational qualifications. The educational qualification in any armed force exam is easy to pass; just the aviation one can be hard. The natural hard part is the physical and medical pass exam.
Since India is a vast country, the physical criteria are different for different regions as the growth rate is not the same everywhere. But the main requirement is for you to be taller than 160 cm, weight should be at least 50kg, and the chest size for men is the same everywhere, which is 77cm.
Another main point to determine your eligibility for the Indian Army is to have a robust physical structure and proper mental health. The teeth and gum should have 14 dental points. The candidate is required to see at 6/6 distant vision.
The Indian Army does not take candidates with conditions like deformity of bones or piles. Issues like this are not compatible within the battlefield or the training ground. From all these, we can say that the physical and medical criteria are particular, with no exception in any area. You have to work your hardest and give your best to be eligible.
The Indian Army is all about honour and love for your country. If you have that passion and patriotism, it is possible to become the best in any sector. It would help if you had the focus and sheer will to do so. At times things will be hard, and you might want to give up. But it would help if you remembered why you got into this in the first place. That’s what makes you the eligible candidate for the Indian Army.
